Free Traffic Legal Advice

Hi all,
Looking for some advice before I challenge this PCN with Brent(Wembley, Harrow).

I am from Gloucester and went to Eastham first before visiting Wembley in the evening.

I received a windscreen PCN on Copland Road, Wembley on 19/08/2026 at 19:33. The PCN is £110, discounted to £55.

I haven't appealed/challenged Brent yet.

The sign next to where the car was parked says:
Mon–Sat 8am–6:30pm
On event days 8am–Midnight

I parked after 7:20pm and wasn't aware that 19 August was a Wembley event day. I don't recall seeing any “EVENT TODAY” sign or anything else clearly telling me that event-day restrictions were operating that day.

The route I took was roughly:
Pinner Road → Eagle Road → Swinderby Road → Chaplin Road → Palm Beach Restaurant → Copland Road

I don't want to claim there definitely weren't any event-day signs because I don't know. I simply don't remember seeing one on the route I took.

I've since came to know that Brent uses EVENT TODAY signs around the Wembley Event Day Zone.

Could anyone familiar with this area/signage advise whether I have reasonable grounds to challenge this?

I'm particularly interested in whether anyone knows where the EVENT TODAY entry signs are on the route above, and whether the sign next to the parking bay is sufficient when it only says “On event days” without saying whether that particular day is an event day.

Nothing has been sent to Brent yet, so I'd appreciate advice on the best approach before I submit the informal challenge.
