Free Traffic Legal Advice

Hello All, I posted this on a website where I think I was advised to post here instead or in addition to.. not quite sure.

In essence I was driving yesterday and due to roadworks in Gunnersbury Lane Acton was following diversion signs which lead me on a loop of the locale for 4 circuits and which I only managed to escape in the end by ignoring the diversion signs and finding my own way out of the area.

The attached photo was on my second pass at this junction, on my first pass I didn’t even see the no right turn signs I was lost and following the diversion sign which said go right... I turned right.

Am I correct in thinking that any fine issued for a contravention would be instantly dismissed on the basis that the diversion sign indicated turn right to follow diversion?

Logic would dictate so but we are now living in the twilight zone.

I may be jumping the gun as this was only yesterday and I may not even get a PCN through the post, I am trying to find out if in the event I am issued with one that its going to be cancelled immediately on my challenging it with the attached photo...

It would be a strong argument. Post the PCN and the video lets see if there is more to go on

Thank you for your response, this only happened yesterday as of yet there is no PCN or video.

In fact I may mot even get issued a PCN if Acton council is aware that they are sending traffic right at a no right turn junction.

I am an anxious person and was hoping that it was clear cut situation and someone may have the definitive answer.
If, and I hope not, I do receive a PCN I will return with that info.

Fingers crossed and if anyone does know where I stand, I am here all night
