Hi

I had stopped in a marked loading bay to unload something from my van on a red route. TFL have said there is: "No stopping on any day 8am-7pm Except 10am-4pm", I was there 16:17-16:18 however I'm almost certain there was no visible sign there while I was there and its certainly not visible in their cctv footage.

I've also read these fines are maybe unenforceable by CCTV recording?

I have already appealed saying there was no visible sign but they rejected it.

I have until 26/08/2025 to pay.

Thanks for your help

Sign was there in October 2024 :-

But whether it is still there, or turned round so it's not visible to a moving vehicle only you can tell us.

'Fraid not. TfL took London Tribunals to the High COurt and got a judgement in their favour.

Thanks for your reply.

So I've now read that the signs on red routes don't actually run parallel to the road (where you intuitively look for them) but actually face the traffic (perpendicular to road), so once you've pulled up the signs aren't very obvious. So annoying, try your best to find a loading bay and still get done.

In the pictures provided the sign was maybe there, you can maybe see the back of it. Do their images not need to show the front of the sign though? I recently had this with Hackney council, they made a lot of effort in proving I drove through school street signs, not realising I had a permit to go through them. One fight after another driving in London!

Thanks again.

Looking closer at the images TFL have provided, it looks like the sign is maybe pointing towards the shops?

That may be so, but only you can tell us as last GSV view is 2024, I think.
