I appealed to the Tribunal and Hippocrates kindly agreed to represent me, for which I am extremely grateful.

However, I have now received this message from the Tribunal, which says:

“The Enforcement Authority has informed the Tribunal that it will not contest your appeal against the Penalty Charge Notice(s) stated above.”

A great result, thanks to FTLA.

I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

If you do not challenge, you join "The Mugged Club".

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

To complete the record on this case, I attach the letter from TFL which arrived by post while I was away, so the email from the Tribunals reached me first.
No indication, of course, what the “administrative error” was.

Well done  :)

You may wish to redact your name and address from the letter...

I realise this case is closed. Added for benefit of future readers who may happen on this post. [As I did; my sister got same PCN, same location, same reason.  ]

TFL Traffic Enforcement Business Rules appendix 09

If you note 1.15

"A representation is made on the basis that the driver had to temporarily drive in a bus lane, in order that they could turn left to access a side road or driveway."

"if distance within the Bus Lane is less than 20 metres, accept."

Very useful to have this reference.  In my case, the car was in for more than 20 metres, however.
