Received a PCN earlier today. I parked in Essex Street Car Park to collect some items from a shop that was about to close. We left the car with the intention of paying via RingGo but forgot. Returned back to the car about 20 mins later, found the PCN. It had been attached to the car 6 mins after we arrived. I immediately paid the £1.76 for the parking.

Only been driving about a year, and this is the first parking fine - I'm normally so on it. We have been dealing with some difficult personal stuff today and I think that led to distraction. Is there any point in trying to appeal asking for leniency?

I take it there's no free parking period.

The PCN looks fairly given so all you have is a grovel plus including the paid session evidence saying it was honest mistake not to pay immediately and you have acted in good faith in buying a session.

They will probably reject though.
