Hello,
After some advice please.
I have received a PCN for entering the Clean Air Zone in Birmingham at 7:20pm Saturday 22/2/25.
I was visiting Birmingham. I am from Milton Keynes.
I saw the signs and was concerned that I have entered the zone. However more than happy to pay if I had entered the zone.
When I arrived at the restaurant, I asked a local Birmingham resident, he said this only applies during specific hours of the day and after 6pm it doesn't apply..
However, at the restaurant I wanted to make sure so I went onto the Birmingham city website on my mobile phone and at the top of the page hastely read the following (please see screenshot attached).
Essentially I read as the zone applies at these times: Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-4pm.
Based on these time I felt assured I didn't have to pay.
Today I was shocked to receive the PCN.
I went on the Birmingham website, convinced this is a mistake.
As you scroll down the webpage probable over half way down deep in some lengthy paragraphs it states its in operation 24hours a day.
My main points :
1. For all motor users the most ralavnt information is times of operation - this was not not front and centre on the website, you have to find this information, embedded in paragraphs near the bottom of the page.
2. The road sign should state the times of operation as they are in London (see attached pic)
I will pay the PCN with 14 days but I would like to make representation based on the above points.
Can you please advise me if it is worth doing this.
