PCN from Ealing Council, Chestnut Grove W5
« on: »
Hi folks

I received a PCN from Ealing council about ten days ago. I am alleged to contravened 12r: parked in a residents or shared use parking place or zone without a valid virtual permit.

Here is the sign that I didnt see as its obscured by overgrown bush: https://imgur.com/a/tc36KdK
GSV (albeit from 2022 when the bush was trimmed): https://shorturl.at/bcCGM
PCN: https://imgur.com/a/Gw8Rqu0
Council name: London Borough of Ealing
Alleged contravention: parked in a residents or shared use parking place without a permit
Location: Chestnut Grove (W5)
PCN number: EA58492587
VRM: LA68 XNX

I would love some advice on how to challenge this or launch a successful appeal. I know the 14 day window ends in a few days.

Cheers

Please re-post the PCN with the number plate and PCN number visible.

They're having a laugh, these are the CEO's photos:

Do you know what distance this sign was from your car?

Did you look for signs when you parked?

There's no way you should pay this without putting a challenge in first.

My car was about 20 metres from that post but from where I was parked, I could not see it.

I am thinking of putting in a challenge today with the lack of visibility of the sign as my defence but how would I word it?

Does anyone have suggestions before I put my appeal in, based on the poor visibility of the sign?

Don't say you could not see the signs, word it as you looked around and no signage was visible. Just different words but the meaning will be much different
Use my version and they will show you the same photos and say look their here, say you couldn't see signs and they will say ah your fault for not looking

If you haven't sent it off already, we generally advise to put a draft on here first.
