PCN Croydon 52J prohibiton certain vehicle Parsons Mead
« on: »
Not from the area and clearly drove through some stupid restriction ' 52J - failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicle' (looks like a regular road!)

Is there any way of disputing this? It seems like an absolutely ridiculous place to have some weird restriction  where cars are not allowed as I was simply going from one part of Croydon town to Ikea and it certainly was not obvious! And from looking online there was uproar about the restriction being put in place! But there is a clear picture of me driving through the warning :/

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks in adavance

OK, you're cross, but if you are to appeal this PCN, you need much more than this.  What can win an appeal is the signage. The Flying Motorbike signs are essentially the same as a No Entry sign for a motorist; did you understand what the signs meant ?

We need to know the state and positioning of the signs and also if there are any advance warning signs. So please post a GSV link if the last view is reasonably up=to-date.  Also please post up all of the PCN, only redacting your name and address.

Sometimes the TRO establishing the restriction is flawed or out-of-date, so somebody on here will probably investigate this aspect, but it would be a long shot.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, to be honest no I hve never seen that sign before as I live nowhere near london and I am not used to driving on roads with such odd restrictions!

Below is the GSV link

Not sure if it will even be worth disputing but it seems like a crazy restriction and also there is no times or anything so it means permit holders only 24/7 can drive through? Seems absolute madness that they can fine people for this, parking is one thing but being unable to drive from one part of the town to another and giving the local shops business by visiting seems ludacris!

Cheers again

Post the remaining pages on the of the PCN.

You cannot use the appeal process to challenge the merits of the restriction. That's like me saying I'm not guilty of speeding doing 100 mph on the M25 when there's 5 fully lit empty lanes at 3 am because there's nobody around, the argument is obviously right but it's a political argument, not a legal one.
