Good afternoon I've received a PCN for parking on double yellow lines.
The street in question is over the road from my house I've parked there without event most days for the last 10 years the road used to be a through road but was closed off a long time ago and the lines in question I presume were a continuation from the main road to stop parking on the junction.
The lines are almost gone but are still visible they end where the pavement cuts through them and there are no signs stating the hours or days etc
My question is what's the best approach to appealing and can I find out anywhere if the restrictions still apply to that area
I'm a bit annoyed and I will take this as far as necessary because I absolutely believe its not valid
Thanks for any advice
I've attached photos of the PCN and the street
The files are too large so I've just put a photo of the street on

There is some logic in what you're saying, but the alternative could be that the double-yellow lines are there to stop parking so that people can turn their car round.  Earliest GSV view is 2009, and the lines are there then, with the road blocked off.

Can you please post the back of the PCN so we can check the "small print" that may contain a fatal error. PCN content is defined in law.

The Traffic Regulation Order must contain the details of these lines, so you might care to look there on their website if the TROs are available : -

No DYLs in the TRO = no contravention

Hi thanks for the reply I've attached the rear of the PCN

Hi thanks for the reply I've attached the rear of the PCN
The "small print" looks OK.

Thanks for looking I will use my thoughts above to form my appeal
I cant find anything on the link posted to check if the lines are valid either way

I had a look through the 2015 Consolidation Order of 2015, the latest for parking etc and can find no mention of Mount Pleasant.

I suggest you submit reps that state that the double-yellow lines do not appear to be supported by a Traffic Regulation Order. The latest order consolidates all previous orders: -

Very kind of you to do that
Thank you I will do it today

Representation done I will update when I get an answer

PCN  cancelled with an apology 😁

Please post their letter.
Just shows what you can dig out, doesn't it.  Most people just cough-up. Will they now remove the yellow lines ? Don't hold your breath !

I'm not saying we're getting a case a day where the traffic order doesn't exist, but it's certainly starting to feel like several a week:

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.
