Newham PCN - Parked without payment - Queens Market Car Park
« on: »
Hi all,

I parked at the Queens Market Car Park after dropping my girlfriend off nearby. I asked her to pay for the parking while I went to park up.

She used a parking app (the one mentioned on the signage, I believe, though I couldn’t double check this on GSV). The issue is that the app only seemed to offer a monthly payment option, which she didn’t choose, and she also forgot to tell me when I arrived. By the time we got back, we had unfortunately received a parking ticket.

Looking again at the app now, there still doesn’t seem to be an option to pay for just a couple of hours, which is definitely possible from the on-site machines. App screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/aJazFyx

Does anyone know if it’s worth appealing the ticket on the grounds that the app didn’t offer the correct duration options?

Thanks

The code you used - 88858-  is for season tickets.

The code for casual parking is 70024.

So what options were visible at the car park.

I’m afraid I don’t recall the exact options shown, and GSV isn’t clear either. I’ve only parked there once before, and on that occasion just used the machine to pay for a few hours, so I know the signage and machines are definitely there.

Appreciate the clarification on the codes, looks like that was a mistake on our side, so I guess we don’t have much ground to appeal in this case.

Happy to hear if there is another angle worth trying, otherwise will just look to pay the fine before the "discount" period ends.
