Hi all,

I received a Penalty Charge Notice from London Borough of Hounslow for contravention 52JM – Failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicles (motor vehicles).

Location: Pears Road junction with Inwood Road
Date/time: 19/11/2025 at 08:51
Date of notice: 24/11/2025

I don’t recall seeing any clear signage warning that motor vehicles were prohibited at this junction. I am unsure whether the signs are properly placed or visible, or whether there could be a technical issue with the PCN documentation.

I would appreciate help checking:
 • Whether the signage at the location is compliant
 • Whether the PCN wording is correct
 • Whether there are any known issues with this restriction
 • If there is a potential basis for a representation
This is my first time dealing with a moving traffic PCN, so any guidance is welcome.

For meaningful advice, please to have a read of

https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

and post up here (use
ibb.co or https://imgpile.com/
for posting images.
Wherever possible, use the BBCode.)

all sides of the PCN you do have (only redact yr name & address - leave all else in),
A GSV link to the location,
and any council photos/video.

As above: whole PCN as there is potentially an issue.
I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.
