PCN - Being in bus lane - Cowbridge Rd East Canton - Cardiff Council

Had no idea I had even driven in a bus lane illegally since I was following GPS directions in an area I'd never been to before.





So been to Cardiff one time driving in my life, got my first ever parking ticket and Council PCN in the same journey!

and re-post the front of the PCN with only yr name & address redacted  - leave all else in,
any Council images (inc the video),
a GSV link to the location.

Only redact yr name & address from docs - leave all else in.

We can now see the whole of the front page, which contains the reg.mark, PCN number and, of great importance, date of issue.Were there only these two pages?
You will notice the Bold message that there is video evidence. Somewhere on the PCN should be guidance on accessing it - have a look. too, at Cardiff's website for parking matters.

Sorry, but following satnav instructions is not a valid reason for cancellation of a PCN. We see cases like yours all the time on this forum. Satnavs are never up-to-date, as traffic restrictions are being introduced daily, and Cardiff is a particularly bad place for this.

Yes just the front and back of 1 page is all that was sent to me.

I've just accessed the video which shows I didn't use the bus route to get ahead of traffic since I'm the only vehicle heading that direction in the video, but am clearly in the bus lane.

Yeah I know I'm probably going to end up paying this, it's just annoying that I genuinely wasn't aware I was in a bus lane and the left hand turn I made wouldn't have taken me 2 seconds longer.

However, if you can post up a GSV link to the exact location, we can look around, but recent cases here show GSV as woefully out-of-date, I'm afraid.

Yeah they are outdated for sure, the car park I left to get on this road is shown as a car dealership in one image. Anyway here is where I took the left turn.

And just incase this makes any difference, here is a picture of the car park (where I also received a parking ticket!!) from which I entered the road, there's a good chance I entered the bus lane here without realising and drove the entire lengh.
