Rye Lane Junction Hanover Park
Hi guys.
I have got this penalty.
The driver takes a left turn from Hanover Park to Rye Lane at night. I have read other threads about this ticket, but I think it was not successfully challenged.
There is in place a no entry for motorists sign, and the exception sign "Except for loading 7am - 10am and buses and taxis"
I think it's still unfair.
My points are:
- Before the junction, the bus stop may partly cover a "pre-warning sign". At least it is on a 2020 Google Maps picture. I posted pictures, but the order has changed since then. The council has not provided evidence of them.
- The actual "Prohibit motorist" sign on the corner looks slightly turned towards the middle of the junction, which makes it even more difficult to read while a driver approaches the junction. Moreover, right next to the sign, some temporary barriers rely on the fence and the pole of the sign, so there could be some work done or will be done. Maybe that's why the sign is slightly tilted (anti-clockwise).
- There is another sign on the right side of the Ryle Lane that is also difficult to read from the Hannover Park because of the sharp angle.
- My car is a minicab and the driver was on the way to pick up two passengers (or load into the cab two passengers, and luggage, if they have one) from the Ryle Lane to provide (essentially) a "Taxi service".
- The driver thought it was allowed to turn into the Rye Lane to "Loading" 7
pm - 10am. So missed one letter due to circumstances.
How about my points?
Or are there any other reasons that make sense?
I have to challenge it today in order if I want to pay the reduced charge in case it is rejected.
Any help appreciated.
