Lakeen Road Doncaster, Code 01 parked in restricted street
« on: July 12, 2024, 04:13:26 pm »
Hi,
This seems seems very clear 2 parking restriction signs on a lamp post. a  8am - 6pm with arrow to left, and 10am  - 3pm with arrow to the right. We have parked here for years park to the right of the lamp post before 10am and after 3pm, but this week we have got 2 tickets. the traffic warden has stated the 10-3pm section starts further down the road and we have parked in the 8am - 6pm section.
Can someone please explain this rule as it doesnt make sense? Traffic warden states we have to go by the 8-6pm sign on the opposite side of the road. and that the arrow is point to the 10am restriction further down the road?
I have attached some pics below. I have also shown the street view map, the sign circled in red is 8am - 6pm, green and blue circles are 10am - 3pm signs.

Thank you

The CEO would seem to be talking bolleaux, the only sign that counts is the one on the side where you parked. So what side was this ?  If the CEO pointed to a sign on the opposite side of the road he/she needs retraining, or in the final analysis, the sack.

You have also not posted the PCN, so please do so now as it sets the scene for us and also could contain fatal errors of content that render it void.

Never, ever, think that councils know what they are doing.

Looking at the two signs, each pointing either left or right, and your car, (I presume), sitting on the right side of the sign that says "10 am to 3 pm" and the PCN timed at 08.15, it seems as plain as a pikestaff that the offence did not occur. Clearly the CEO was talking complete bolleaux.

You now need to submit an informal challenge on the following lines: -

Dear Sirs

Re PCN <PCN number> dated <dd/mm/yyyy> served at 08.15 at Lakeen Road

I deny liability for the above PCN penalty on the basis that the contravention did not occur. You will observe from the attached photograph, that my car is sitting to the right of the signs that show the applicable parking restrictions at this point. The sign applicable to my car is for no waiting 10 am to 3 pm, yet the PCN was served at 08.15

PLease cancel the PCN forthwith and advise me that you have done so. You might also care to take the CEO concerned off his/her duties for a period of retraining.
