I parked on the verge/footpath that I have seen people park on on the weekends without tickets and forgot to move it on the Sunday morning and came back to a PCN. There are no signs on the street about parking. There are controlled zones one as you come in and out of the zone afaik.

I want to know if it's worth appealing this one on the grounds of being on the verge or just pay up. I've got one day left of the discounted rate.

Were you where the white van is in this GSV?

You need to find out the times the SYL is in operation - presumably this is in a CPZ?

GSV yes I was parked just to the right of where that white van is

and yes it's in a CPZ

CPZ is in effect 8am to 6pm all days of the week

Yellow lines apply to footways and verges, so you look to be bang-to-rights assuming the CPZ hours cover the time on the PCN.

thank you lesson learned, I will just pay them then before it goes up to £70

Edit: now paid

It wasn't until I saw your last photo that the reason for the PCN became clear.  One must always be very careful when parking off the carriageway. In London it has been an offence since the 70s, yellow lines or no yellow lines.
