2) Got a letter in the mail regarding a trip I took through Lewisham 3 months ago, after dropping off friends in Croydon, and driving home to Bexleyheath via Google Maps (otherwise I don't travel often through areas I don't know).

I am/was unaware of any previous correspondence in trying to communicate this to me until today, but there's an Order for Recovery of Unpaid Penalty Charge dated 08/10/24 regarding a notice they've dated on 19/07/24.

The incident took place at 15:22 on 15/07/24.

It's my first time seeing this PCN. And not aware of receiving any prior notice. I live alone.

I had to look up anything related, as was unaware of any changes in Lewisham, and thought I was relatively safe following Maps, and it sticking to main roads.

I have found the following where it indicates these roads are pedestrian zones from 2:45pm - 3:45pm.

Attachment 1 is the order notice

Attachment 2-3 are relating to the PCN copy they sent attached to the order letter.

Attachment 4 is the timeline of my journey that day

Happy to answer any questions or follow up, as  I'm pretty confused as to how I've landed here.

Is the address correct on the order for recovery.

You seem not have got two docs:

- PCN
- charge certificate

Any problems with post?

You say 'not aware' - is this the same as 'these were not delivered at the address on the V5C car logbook'.

You have a way to get this reset provided you didn't get the PCN.

See process:

Yes, the name and address on the order and the PCN are the same, but I did not get the original PCN (which is the same delivery address on the V5C logbook).

Not super certain I have a problem with post, but I get very little generally (practically moved everything to emails), so anything outside of Amazon parcels is pretty much an event in itself. I also WFH, so unlikely to be a mix up in receiving.

I think this would fall under Statutory Declaration as a result, so happy to pursue that, would there be any specific wording I could use?

Edit: That long weekend in July, was the first time I took days off in ages, and I haven't taken any since.

No; just tick the appropriate box.

Perfect, thank you both genuinely, I've arranged a time later today with a Solicitor to get the Statutory Declaration signed, and I'll mail that off instantly.

Thanks again. :)

You need to e-mail it to tec@justice.gov.uk

Don't use post.

Thank you, that's a very good catch I didn't previously consider, would it be safe if I do both (recorded delivery + email)?

You can waste your money if you like but they'll only process the first they receive.

You should get an e-mail acknowledgement within a few minutes.

Put STATUTORY DECLARATION in the e-mail subject field,

Ahh, understood.

Thank you again. :)

I appreciate the reassurance and advice.

Let us know once you have a new pcn and we'll take a look at it.
