I am a part time Royal Mail delivery driver, and I deliver only around N17 (I don’t have duty in N18) but from one delivery point to the next the satnav’s route was through this road. This is the first time I’ve passed this road (Bus Gate) and first time I’ve ever encountered such a restriction. I was going from the North (Bull Lane) to Queen Street (please view on Street View)
There’s been talks in other forums of measuring the distance (not sure how that helps the case but just wanted to mention it)

Sorry about that. I've made it public now

It's fatal to rely solely on satnav in big cities especially London. They are never up-to-date. Here there are two clear signs with no times or days so apply 24x7.

HOwever, the most important point to make is that the PCN is not addressed to you, but to the Royal Mail. The law on decriminalised traffice enforcement like this, is that the owner of the vehicle has responsibility for paying or appealing PCNs, not the driver. So the question is, how did you receive this PCN ? You need to find out what the conditions of service are related to traffic and parking PCNs. Such is the law, that you cannot submit representations unless authorised by Royal Mail. Of course you can pay it !!

So, you need to get info from Royal Mail on what their arrangements are for PCN appeals and payments. Post here when you know.

My manager handed the letter to me on 20/12/ in the afternoon so I assume he received the letter to his office on the same day. Everyone pays their own fines and  I knew this was the case beforehand as another worker had to pay their fine for parking in a double yellow. They won't pay for the fine as I'm an agency worker. When I mentioned appealing first before paying he said "it's all yours you can do whatever you like".

I don't plan on using satnav as the appeal as in other threads it doesn't seem to work and my manager has tried with past PCNs and it was rejected. On other threads regarding the same BUS GATE I've seen mentions of the distance as well as the fact that the PCN states 28 days from the date of the notice and not the date of service etc.

Was wondering if that would do any help

Except you cannot do what you like at all, as the law is quite clear; only the registered keeper can appeal.Only if you get a letter of authority from Royal Mail can you appeal the matter. So essentially your cojones are in a rat trap.

I see. I appreciate the help, you just saved me a bunch of time. I'll just pay and get it over with
