Trying to appeal parking fines which weren't received
« on: »
We recently moved to address to somewhere in Haringey and I am currently dealing with some issues relating to parking fines which is proving difficult as there are no phone numbers to call and the online system is limiting on how you can appeal.

After we moved,  I made a genuine mistake of thinking that the yellow line outside our flat meant we could park outside of the times of the local parking restrictions. The sign-post relating to loading was not very visible from where I was parking but since becoming aware, I can see there were loading restriction times. I was made aware of this when I received a parking ticket in August which I paid promptly, as I always do… I have not parked in this location since and thought that would be the end of it.

I then received two letters in the post about unpaid parking fines at dates prior to my initial parking ticket. At the time, I never received any tickets, so it was a bit of a surprise to receive two letters with increased charges due to a lack of payment. I tried to appeal online but it would only let me appeal one ticket at the time although the appeal relates to both. I have now got two sums due (£160 and £240) which I feel is excessive given there were issues with receiving the tickets. Another element to this is that if the initial fines were received, I would not have made the same mistake again so it does feel unfair to get punished for the same mistake three times due to a lack of fair communication of these penalties.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with similar? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Read this FIRST, then post all the information. without that, we can't be of much help.https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

I note there's someone with a very similar name to you on there, are you the same person?
Bus driving since 1973. My advice, if you have a PSV licence, destroy it when you get to 65 or you'll be forever in demand.

No - first time posting! Maybe it's a coincidence or something funny going on in the area... Do you have the post from before that you can share?
