Hello. I'm seeking advice for a traffic contravention. Performing a prohibited turn (no left turn) on Longfield Ave/New Broadway, Ealing.

I am at fault but obviously would like to appeal if I had a chance.

I work away from home so getting back home for Xmas I've received both the initial letter and the letter I've attached (for missing the payment date).

Any help would be great! Thank you

You have 28 days from receipt of a postal PCN to submit representations, or pay. You state you work away from home, so please tell us more, because a CC can only be paid, not appealed. After the CC the council register the debt at the Traffic Enforcement Centre, (a 'court'without any court rooms !). This adds £10 to the CC amount. At this stage you can submit a Statutory Declaration that you didn't receive the PCN, but we need your story because we don't want you to tell porkies on your SD.

So, please give more info.....

Hello. Thank you for the reply. I work away (in London) for prolonged periods. Only returning home (the car's registered address) once every 6 weeks - 2 months. I hope this gives you the info you need. Thank you again.

If this is so, then when you receive the Order for Recoverry, you should submit a Statutory Declaration that you didn't receive the PCN.  OK, you did receive it, but well outside the period you could have done anything to respond to it, so that is 'non-receipt' in my book.
