Hello everyone, unfortunately I have got a pan for £80 for parking with wheels partially on pavement.

1. This was at night time, over a single yellow line
2. The only reason I had to park slightly over the pavement was due to the fact the road was narrow so I didn’t want to block cars from being able to enter
3. There was plenty of space for pedestrians to walk on the pavement and I have parked here before and never had any issues at 10pm outside the temple (yes I went to pray hence the reason for parking there)

Is there any way out of this?

Link to street view below: I was parked on right hand side, there are no construction railings now, they been removed.

Images of pcn uploading shortly - the imgur website seems to be not available, is there any alternative I can use? I don’t see the embed image option in my view either.

So why didn't you park in the bay on the other side ? Parking off-carriageway has been an offence in London since the 70s, and requires no signs or lines. Not causing an obstruction is not a valid appeal argument; sorry.

Footway parking is very hard to challenge in London.

Do you have a disability that meant you couldn't park a bit further away?

The other bays were taken as it was evening prayer time , so there weren’t any other options unfortunately :-(

I don’t have a disability but my mum does who was with me at the time-  I don’t have a blue badge yet though I’m planning to apply for one - my mum has arthritis in her knees which means it’s painful for her to walk - can support this with medical evidence if needed.

If I contact the temple can they do anything to cancel the fine? I know that it applies to private parking tickets but for council I guess we can't use this option? I have to pay £80 within the window otherwise goes to £160 so just wanted to know if i have any other options.  Thanks for your help everyone

You can try asking for discretion saying you had your mother who has restricted mobility with you but even a blue badge doesn't give an exemption for this.

You can also say cars park there like this as it's a narrow road and there is legitimate expectation of allowance for attending the temple.
