I went to pick up a Facebook purchase on Whitton Avenue West, the road is a long busy road at times. After picking up the purchase, I didn't want to travel to the end of the road to then just drive back down. I also didn't want to be making a U-turn on a busy main road. Malden Avenue being the closest side road from where I parked meant I drove in, performed a U-turn and headed back out to proceed home.
I don't recall seeing any signage i.e. no right turn prohibition. This may have been due to the sign being visually obscured by a tall vehicle? Or I just wasn't as vigilant as I should have been.
Checking Google Maps street view history the sign has been present throughout the years since 2008, with a camera installed in 2018. There is only 1 sign present, don't understand why they couldn't put one on the other side as well would be better situated within a drivers view?
I checked the PCN image and video and it does show me taking a turn. The image and video also have a longitude/latitude (GPS) stamp which correlates to the location mentioned on the PCN. However the image and video is cropped and doesn't show much i.e. the lamp post with the signage? Even though it would be from the rear view point at least to prove it was present at the date and time? Or whether there were any tall vehicles parked nearby obscuring the view of the sign? Without the longitude/latitude on the image/video this could have happened absolutely anywhere.
The last PCN I received was several years back but I specifically recall the video showing the contravention (was a U-turn) and then pointing the camera at the signage i.e. no U-turn within x number of yards.
