Hello,

Few days ago I received a penalty charge notice saying that I had missed my original penalty charge notice, which is £70, and now they want me to paid £105 because the charge has now increase by 50%.

The penalty charge was issued because the vehicle was in a bus lane on College Road, Stoke-On-Trent. (Contravention:47) It happened on 1st July 2024, and I did not received any of the original penalty charge notice from them before until this one (13th Sep 2024). I would definitely paid immediately if I first received the original penalty charge notice.

My question is, is it possible that can I appeal for paying the £70 instead of £105 ? I tried to filled up the PCN appeal form but I’m not sure if I can just tell them I’m not receiving the first penalty charge ? I tried to call them but all of the numbers are for payments only.

You have a charge certificate (CC) - not getting the PCN means you can let it run to debt recovery and get it reset to the PCN.

You can contact the council but this is out of process and some of us say yes, some no.

Is the name and address as it should be on the CC.

Post the CC obscuring only name and address.
