PCN from Haringey council for driving on a restricted road
« on: »
Hi, I got a PCN for driving on La Rose Lane in Haringey where cars are not allowed (the PCN and screenshot from the council website attached). I am from Redbridge and not familiar with roads like these and I was following instructions on google maps which told me to go through the road. I would like to  know if I have any grounds for appeal. Many thanks

A shame as they have now clearly fixed a wording problem.  Please show all pages of the PCN. And redact your address and name but leave the PCN and VRM details.
I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

Were there any advanced warning signs?

Oh dear, yet another satnav-assisted PCN ! It is fatal to just blindly follow instructions from these devices in London where there are hundreds of council traps to catch you out. Did you not understand the meaning of the two "Flying Motorbike" signs ?

Very difficult to get these cancelled. If there are no advance signs, then you might be in with a chance, but we can't see if there are any, because GSV is too out-of-date, so you'd need to do some leg-work with a camera.

Alternative is a fatal error on the PCN making it void, but Hippocrates has put that one to bed, I'm afraid.  We point out PCN errors, but it only works for so long if the council are pro-active on these things.

And, he didn't even make one of his crazy videos -they worked it out for themselves.  ::)

I don't think there was.

No unfortunately I never came across this sign before, I was wondering what the sign was and was mistakenly reassured by the car going in front of me :-(
