At the end of August this year, I failed to pay for parking on a Saturday morning due to forgetting about my car while in a hotel with my family. Our family car is registered in my wife's name.

I found a council PCN on my the car and decided that I would pay the £25 as I knew I made a mistake.

However, for some reason, the council refunded the money back to my card without notifying me in any way, and now my wife has received an NTK.

I know that there is another forum that may be more appropriate to use however I seem to not be able to make an account on there. Any advice regarding this matter would be appreciated. I'm not sure why I do not have a confirmation email regarding the payment (I may have deleted it by accident), but I am certain that I paid the fine thinking that it wouldn't come back to bite lol.

I tried to upload the photos, only for it to fail due to the folder being full, however I tried again after modifying the pictures so that they were no more than 44kb each, but even trying to upload just one of them failed.

What date was the £25 payment made? Was this outside the discount period?
