Hello,

Recently started driving again and have been stung by the first of potentially multiple PCNs heading my way. In the past, making a sharp left-turn in this medium sized road (Essex Park) would involve observing vehicles emerging from it; in addition to focusing on incoming vehicles making a right turn.

My plea:

1. There are no advanced warning signs leading up to the left turn. https://maps.app.goo.gl/t8jMdKGUstJtEUXm9

2. The road narrows slightly which leads to higher focus on emerging vehicles. It's difficult to see that the road is restricted without seeing a warning sign on the right hand side of Essex Park Road. https://maps.app.goo.gl/KuYcP2LosCTwhft77

PCN: https://postimg.cc/FfJbJjFd and https://postimg.cc/wRKNCkP5

I've sent an appeal email pleading for leniency while also stating the above points.

I've found these two old threads that are semi-relevant:

And only one sign too ! I think you have a reasonable case; if there had been two signs, one per side of the road entrance, your case would be weaker.  However this and no advance warning sign makes a good case for taking them all the way to London Tribunals.

I had a quick look on London Tribunals statutory register but didn't find any appeals against the restriction, so you might be the first one if you take them that far.

If you have already cast the dice by making representations there is nothing to do until they are rejected at which time you might want to instruct me to be your representative as I am local and know this location. I turned left into it last week, on a Sunday so ok, and you can't make out a bloody thing on the sign. My email is mrmustard@zoho.com

I have an earlier case in hand at this location.
I help you pro bono (for free). I now ask that a £40 donation is made to the North London Hospice before I take over your case. I have an 85% success rate across 2,000 PCNs but some PCNs can't be beaten and I will tell you if your case looks hopeless before asking you to donate.

Thank you all.
I'm waiting for a response from Barnet regarding my first PCN. Would I be mistaken in thinking I should focus on contesting the first PCN only or should I be submitting an appeal for the second PCN and any subsequent PCNs as well?

Yes. I wasn't sure if I had missed the earlier warning sign. It's unclear whether this is now a permanent change or still within an experimental stage

Thanks I appreciate it and the advice you have contributed to other posters here. It's been informative to understand what's going on.

I don't think you have shown us two PCNs or made it clear that there are two.

Please post up the front page of the second pcn with only your name and address covered.
My method which gives images that don't need to be clicked on is to use https://imgbb.com/ , start uploading and set to 'don't autodelete' and then after selecting the file from your computer copy the 'full bb code' and paste it into FTLA which will show the image to readers without any clicking.

You might want to go to the final photo of the first pcn on which your name and address are showing and resumbit that with the details blanked out.

I didn't receive any email responses from Barnet so assumed that the matter had quietly been dropped. It seems that I was wishful in my thinking.
Today on the 30th April, I received a rejection of representation letter dated 25th April 2025.

I can't tell whether there has been a new sign placed up since March.

Any sign that wasn't there on the day in question is irrelevant. As always we need to see the rejection letter, all pages, with only your name and address hidden.

Would it be OK for me to email you the documents?
Should I continue to omit the details as well within email?

If you want but you get more points of view if you put it on here and it is possible for me to miss things.

I've sent an email. I'll setup an imgBB account.
