Barking & Dagenham - 50R - Prohibited right turn (Reede Road)
« on: »
And whilst I wait for a response to my own PCN, I have one on behalf of a family member as well! (We're clearly doing poorly as a family at the moment...)

My sister-in-law has received a PCN for the prohibited right turn from Reede Road into the Lidl/Iceland car park that has caught out quite a few other people.

The car is a shared one between SIL and her husband - they're not 100% sure who was driving at the time. All pages of the PCN are here:

Also, I had wondered whether another thread here ( https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/lbbd-50r-performing-a-prohibited-turn-(no-right-turn)-reede-road/ ) had been resolved yet, with an outcome that could inform how we go about challenging this one?

Video:

The signage situation has changed since the last video we've seen, so it might be an idea to go and get us an updated picture, as google street view is years out of date at this location.

Sorry for the late response - pictures now added to folder. Seems the sign is right at the corner of the road markings, just before the yellow box starts.

(As an aside, the yellow box junction also appears to be a little too long - not relevant here but I snapped a picture of it in case it can be used for anyone who does get caught in that box junction. I know the awful one nearby at Marks Gate has finally been painted over to reduce it to a reasonable length!)

You could make a plea for discretion in the hope that they mess up the response, I can't see anything else I'm afraid. Wait and see what others think but don't miss the discount, representations must be submitted online before midnight on Wednesday to preserve the discount.

Thanks cp. With there being no clear points to argue on, and being very busy in the middle of a house move, SIL and BIL have decided to pay at the discounted rate. The logbook's not been sent off for a change of address yet so they didn't want to challenge and risk missing a response, but they pass on their thanks for having a look!

Hopefully the up-to-date pictures help for any of the same contravention in the same location also.
