Pilot Pub Greenwich. Claim Form

Hi. I'm new here, but had help from Peppipoo in the past.

Before Christmas I went out to dinner in Greenwich at the Pilot Pub. I definitely wasn't driving, having had fairly major surgery a while previously, but I am the keeper of the car in question.
We didn't notice any signage, either inside the venue, or outside, but apparently you are supposed to register your vehicle with the venue. We didn't.
I must confess I've been a bit useless with this, ignoring everything (and stupidly throwing away most of it) but yesterday I received a claim form, which I will attempt to attach. Miraculously I've found the original Parking Charge paperwork, and a notice of debt recovery from DCB Legal,but not the NTK or the Letter Before Claim.

I assume my next step is to fill in the Acknowledgement of Service saying I intend to defend all of the claim.

I realise my defence is a bit rubbish, but I have nothing to lose, right? I am a blue badge holder, and I imagine I would have displayed it, but don't actually remember.
I have incurable cancer, and am a dialysis patient as well, registered disabled, so have had bigger things on my mind than a parking ticket. I realise that's no excuse, but that's where I'm at. Is there any mileage in filling in the bit that says "are you vulnerable"? My general health and chemo, dialysis etc result in brain fog, which can sometimes make me not think the straightest.


Any advice would be gratefully received.

Blue Badges hold no validity on private land other than indicating that you might need special consideration. The terms on the signs are relevant here.

You have 14+5 days from the date on the N1SDT form to file your AoS, then 14 more days to file your defence.

The driver is assumed to be competent enough to drive and therefore to be able to read the signs and to agree with them by entering into a contract by parking. Saying that you're not capable of doing the latter puts into question your ability to drive in the first place.

Of course, as a person I have sympathy with your position but I'm just saying what the parking company is likely to say.

Thank you. I'll try again with the images later. I'm fully capable of reading signs. I just didn't look, assuming my friend was parking properly.

Another quick question.
If I defend and lose, is that automatically a CCJ, or would I still have the option to pay.

Provided you pay within 28 days, it is not entered on the register as a CCJ.

You may have a defence line that you are not liable as keeper as they have failed to meet the requirements to transfer liability - need to see the PCN to check however if you can sort out the links to the pictures - probably need to see the back as well.

Failing that you have that you were customers (any chance you have a receipt?), and the signage may be deficient.  On street view there are only small unlit signs around the carpark that are above head height, and the prominent term (the only one that can be read on SV and which is from 2022) is 'Customers only' - there is no obvious mention that registration or similar is required, but you would need a better view of the signs to see how deep that was buried.  Was it dark when you arrived?

If the claim is issued by DCB Legal then they often discontinue before the hearing if an even half way competent defence is put forward.
