Right there, hello guys. This morning I parked on the carriageway while I was attending a meeting at a building nearby. I got ticketed for "parking on a footpath", when in fact there is no footpath. The CEO takes an image showing "park in marked bays only", but that is for the opposite side of the road, there is no marked bays on my side of the road, so I feel it is an incorrect contravention code, because there is no footpath parking.

Also the photo of the "park in marked bays" is on a different street  ;D

No footway? The pictures show a footway/pavement and carriageway.

Obviously whatever the contravention envisaged by the CEO they chose poorly.

"My car was on the carriageway not the footway so the contravention did not occur. Please cancel the PCN, which has been issued in error.'

Nothing more needs to be said.

Alright thanks very much. I'll be astounded if they choose to reject the appeal.
Don't be astounded because >95% of representations are rejected by councils. In fact it is probably >98% !! Why, do I hear you ask ?
Because the councils know that if they do this, >95% of people just cough-up to get the discount, not knowing much about motoring and parking law. Revenues from PCNs in London are around £650 million a year, a Nice Little Earner. So you must be prepared to forego the discount if you want to win this one.

Please post a copy of the pcn
I am currently too busy working to take on any except the most unreasonable PCNs.

I help you pro bono (for free). I now ask that a £40 donation is made to the North London Hospice before I take over your case. I have an 85% success rate across 2,000 PCNs but some PCNs can't be beaten and I will tell you if your case looks hopeless before asking you to donate.

Not 'The Park In Marked Bays ' sign, but a 'if you wish to park on the footway, you may do so within the marked areas.'sign.

It is optional.
These are not designated parking bays, they are areas on the footway where the council claims to have disapplied the statutory prohibition on parking on the footway introduced 52 years ago by the Greater London Council.

In a nutshell.

And talking of nuts, don't think that your reps would provide a damascene conversion within the authority. I suspect this would need either a heavy hammer or the adjudicator. Or both.

You'll succeed in the end, it's simply a matter of how many hoops these ignoramuses force you to jump through.
