Hi there,
Police came from a side road holding a speed gun and stopped for speeding.
The officer let go of the other driver of the vehicle in front and side of me did not stop them.
He said I was doing 36 in a 20 zone, and asked for my details and said I will receive a letter for prosecution, I asked him my he or his colleague did not stop the other drivers, he just said I was on the left lane and would not say anything else.
This happened on 28/9/25 and I received the letter today 19/1/26 dated 14/1/26.
Can anyone offer any advice on this please
Thanks

Give us a clue, what is this letter you have received?

Regardless whether other drivers were speeding and not stopped, that doesn't provide any sort of get out for you.

What is this letter of which you speak?
In any case, if the police officer claimed you were doing 36, even allowing a generous margin of error, it would be hard to argue you weren't exceeding the 20 limit. Do you dispute this?
