Stopped by police for no insurance
« on: November 12, 2023, 01:45:51 pm »
Hi, pleading for any advice. I got a gift of new privates plates a few weeks ago. Fast forward I never got round to telling insurance and I’ve been stopped by police for having no insurance. Thing is they checked both plates and no insurance was found. They let me go with a notice to take within 7 days to the station with proof of insurance. I have changed the new reg over now. Also have proof of policy with both registration played. What do I do now I can’t lose my licence 😞

What you do is take the policy into a police station as required within 7 days.
I assume it shows insurance being held at the time of stop.

I've reported to mods so this should be moved to correct forum

The obvious question seems to be: did you have insurance at the time you were stopped?

As above - get confirmation from your insurer that insurance was in place and take to the police station as instructed.

BTW - no insurance is 6 points so unless you have 6+ currently you won't lose your licence.

Or been driving for less than 2 years... (obtained first full entitlement less than 2 years ago)
There are motorists who have been scammed and those who are yet to be scammed!
