Hello.

In receipt of Single Justice Procedural Notice.
Speeding ticket
37 in a 30
(Apparently just this month, that road A1 Archway London has been reduced to 20mpg)

Incident Date: 12/08/2025
SJN letter dated: 28/01/2026
Letter received: 13/02/2026

1. Is this a legal timeframe or has Met Police been delinquent in posting to me? Can this incident be canceled because of these timings? Or should I not even mention this in my rebuttal?

2. Police Witness Statement says I was sent a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty on 18/09/2025. But I failed to meet requirements by not paying and failing to provide license details.
3. As result, Fixed Penalty was withdrawn.
4. Matter then referred to Prosecution Team for SJN, as outlined above.
5. Police continues to say: ‘I am unable to provide any technical evidence concerning the original offence. In the event you wish to challenge original evidence you should request the attendance of a police officer’

So:
-I received letter from Met police dated 22/10 stating:
Thank you for your recent communication…. The police are satisfied…. You have already been sent a conditional offer of fixed penalty…. On this occasion, it is open to you to withhold payment…

In due course, court proceedings would be initiated.

DOES THIS PROVE THAT I DID RESPOND TO THE CONDITIONAL OFFER AND SJN Witness statement is INCORRECT?

PLUS I have Royal Mail receipt for proof of posting re: this incident.

ALSO: Should I request Police attendance?

Anything here to get this speeding ticket canceled?

Thank you for guidance.
Much appreciated

Unfortunately, Doris Stokes and Mystic Meg have both passed to the other side, leaving us with no way to contact either of them to find out what happened.

The police had 6 months to instigate proceedings - which is done by issuing a Written Charge and Single Justice Procedure Notice. They usually then take a couple of weeks to collate the initial evidence bundle before getting around to posting it to you.

Please refrain from SHOUTING. Whether edited highlights prove that something the statement never claimed happened didn't happen is mostly irrelevant, as merely "responding" in and of itself is meaningless. If you want meaningful advice, try telling us what actually happened, rather than just the highlights that are raising your blood pressure.

Apologies. Caps in post was not meant to be shouting but to highlight my questions & concerns. I’ll know better next time. (I pray this is my only time here)

Meanwhile, I question what the police witness wrote and how/if that affects my case. Also timings. Is the six months to issue the SJN hard and fast? Or is the posting of the SJN two weeks shy of six calendar months good enough to have this canceled? Especially as it arrived to me a few days after the six month window. No proof on arrival however. No date stamp on the envelope.
Appreciate direction here.
Big thanks!

Based on the dates, it appears they started the SJPN process at the end of January, so in plenty of time. When you received it is largely irrelevant.

You appear to be repeating your question without telling us what happened.
