NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? - Metropolitan Police

Date of the offence: - 14 November 2023
Date of the NIP: - 6 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 8 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): A 10 Stamford Hill nr Holmleigh Rd S/B N16 (1571)
Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - First
If you are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? -
How many current points do you have? - 0
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - The driver was driving fairly slow but the NiP claims he was driving at 24mph in a 20mph zone recorded on an automatic camera.
1)   Do I have to send in the actual form naming myself or are there other means?
2)   Is there any email address I can send it to (if yes what is it)?
3)   As I do not want to log with my details in to their automatic portal may I also request for the camera calibration as well?
I was toying with the idea of requesting the type approval of the camera it may be used for a 20mph as at one time they where only approved for 30mph. In between my request and passing I also name myself as the driver of the said car and the said time hoping the whole letter be passed on to the data request department yet I have complied with the law.

1. No, but does open an element of risk when processed. Why not just send the form (and get proof of posting)? It makes zero difference
2. Unless they have provided one - see above. There's been legal debates over the validity of e-mails for year and it's never really been fully resolved.
3. You can write and ask, but need to do so within the 28 days and leave enough time to name the driver. Some forces wil loblige, others not - they can take such a request as a NG plea and take the matter straight to court and that will be expensive (and pointless)

Re the type-approval - see 3 above

For the sake of a course (if eligible) or 3 points/£100, is it worth the risk of a court visit with higher fine (maybe) plus costs, plus victim surcharge?

You can certainly give the details in the form of a letter (Case law, Jones V DPP) which may inconvenience them somewhat (and may see them withhold the offer of a course or fixed penalty as applicable).
Otherwise, as per reply on Pepipoo, if mail is the only option they offer, then it is the only option.

Not sure why you don't want to log on, given you'll only be providing details they already have.....  But calibration (and the resulting certificate) isn't required to convict you, so not sure why you want to see them anyway?
There are motorists who have been scammed and those who are yet to be scammed!

If I have been offered a course then they can not unoffer it.
If by confusion they failed to log my naming driver yet I send them proof I would assume that they drop the case.

That rather depends on the basis on which the offer is withdrawn.

If you're offered a course then - by definition - they already know the driver.

What sort of confusion are you expecting?

If I have named the driver but incorporated it within questions I ask them it may be overlooked and consequently they missed their timeframe.

You need to name the driver unequivocally.

If you name him/her, but hedge it about with 'ifs' 'buts' or 'maybes', or irrelevant flannel, you may well be charged with failure to comply with the request. That is a much more serious offence, with much harsher penalties, than  the original speeding.

The chances of it being overlooked, or dropped as too difficult, are negligible. They have dealt with people playing silly b*ggers before.
