SJPN - failure to provide identity
« on: January 20, 2025, 07:59:59 pm »
Hello all,

Firstly, thank you all for the guidance I have read so far here on other threads.

I am in a situation where I have received a further steps notice. After speaking with the fines officer who passed me to the CTSC I have found out this was due to speeding (58 in a 50). I have received no correspondence in relation to this and  am now incredibly anxious about this situation.

I have read a few threads on here and understand after making my Statutory Declaration, I should plead not guilty to both charges but enter a plea to state  I would plead guilty to the speeding on the condition that the failure to identify was dropped, is this correct?

This is on one form online and the options are as follows

- I am guilty of the original offence
- I am not guilty of the original offence
- I need to please for more than one offence

It then goes on to a box to add more information about my plea which is free text.

My question is, do I select the third option and use the free text box to add the plea offer?

Do I need to add any further information here?

I am probably completely over thinking this, however, I have never been in such a situation before and would really appreciate any advice.

Many thanks,

Depends what offence(s) you have been charged with.
I am responsible for the accuracy of the information I post, not your ability to comprehend it.

It was originally a speeding offence which is now a failure to identify.

I have had no correspondence in relation to this until I had received a further steps notice

You need to find out whether you were charged with both offences.

What is the form you refer to for?

The SJS provided me with the full details and the SJPN says I have been charged with both. This has then gone to court without me knowing about it.

The form is an online form the SJS have provided me with where you can make your statutory declaration and enter your plea
