So about a year ago i got caught speeding doing 42 in a 30, they sent the letters for this to an old address. My V5C address was out of date but the court sent letters to 3 other addresses, non of which matched the address on the V5C anyway. I first heard about this when a bailiff contacted me a few weeks ago, since then I have submitted a statutory declaration which has been accepted but now I have a court hearing via video coming up and I'm unsure what to expect. Sources I've read online indicate i should plead not guilty to both the speeding and the S.172 to prompt the prosecutor to withdraw the S.172 charge (as i genuinely did not receive the speeding notice)

Has anyone else gone through this, what should I do? Unsure on how to speak to the prosecutor about a plea deal when it's a video link hearing?

I have read it, there is information about s.172 there but it doesn't answer my question
