Intended prosecution 59 in a 30

Hey folks. It's bad. I know it's bad. What's it gonna be. Heres the facts: brand new to me car with a fair bit more power than I'm used to, very late not a soul on the roads, quite tired and simply didn't realise the limit was 30. 60 didn't feel unreasonable for the road at the time. I know there's no way of getting around it and I should have been way more careful but I'd had a super long day and I simply missed it. Is there anything I can do? I've already let them know it was me driving. It's England- Yorkshire. I was driving back home to Newcastle from Manchester. I shouldn't have even been there but the satnav took me a weird way.

You would have been at the top end of Band C of the old sentencing guidelines (51-60 in a 30) which was 6 points *or* a short ban (7-56 days) and a Band C fine regardless of whether points or a ban.
Band C is now simply 51+ (in a 30 limit) - so again, 6 points *or* a short ban. The fine with a guilty plea would be equivalent to 100% Relevant Weekly Income plus 40% surcharge plus ~£90 prosecution costs.

If you plead guilty and don't request a hearing in response to the SJPN, the SJ will either give you 6 points and fine as above, or if he thinks that a ban ought to be considered he will remit it for a regular court hearing for sentencing.
