I got an NIP for exceeding a 20 MPH speed limit at 24 MPH by a camera. I looked at the Calibration certificate and it was valid for less than 1 year (e.g. July 31 2025 - June 8 2026) for some reason, although technically still valid. It was issued by Redspeed and type of system is "SpeedCurb" if that matters.

Has anyone has seen Redspeed certificates with this format before, and whether the lack of detail (no tolerances, no test standards listed, no witness signature beyond the CEO) is normal or worth challenging through disclosure.

Any ideas on the best way to get out of it? Given you normally get 10% + 2 MPH, I'm surprised I got the ticket at all but I know they can technically issue one for it. Frustrating.

There is no mileage in questioning the calibration cert.

And you do NOT "normally get 10% + 2 MPH". The guideline of "10% plus 2" is actually the starting point for enforcement, i.e. you only "get" 10% plus 1mph.
