I hired a car on the 26/01/2025 and was informed by the company on 05/02/25 that they had recieved an NIP dated 29/01/25 and had passed my details on to the police. (NIP Hire Attch 1)
The police have sent me an NIP dated 17/02/25. (NIP Me Attch 2)
Alleged offence - Exceed 70 mph motorway limit - automatic camera device
Date and time - 26/01/25 21:25:29
Location - M1-4434A J30-J31 Northbound, Exceed 70 mph motorway limit
Vehicles Speed -91 Speed Limit -70
I have viewed the Calibration certificate (Calibration Attch 3)
I have viewed on the South Yorkshire Police (StarPortal) all the evidence and documentation relating to this offence (Attch Image 4)
In the General Image I am overtaking other cars who were in the 3rd lane who were driving slightly slower than me but not beyond the 70mph limit this has me alarmed that it states 91mph it seems excessive for the car I was driving.
Questions:
I do not understand very clearly the general image evidence as all it states is interval 0.00, 0.35, 0.10- any advice?
What is the period of a calibration certificate?
The period from the offence and NIP is beyond 14 days however I realise the Hire company passed this on does it make any difference
What may be offered by way of 91mph in a 70mph by the Law or courts?
