42MPH on a 30MPH
« on: »
Hi,
I pass this road every day and I'm being very carful, once I must of spaced out while passing and got a speeding ticket. Any suggestions if there is a way I can challenge it or at least doing a course instead of points.

You could try posting 2 pages of the Highway Code for no apparent reason. That usually helps.

It's a restricted road with a complaint system of street lighting: https://goo.gl/maps/YWW1uRg25PVmbGF69, so unless there were signs indicating a speed limit of 50 or more (which is exceptionally unlikely), you don't appear to have any viable defence.

Send the form back naming yourself, as long as you've not done a course within the past 3 years they should offer you one, as you're just within the threadhold.

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.
