Private Parking Sector Single Code of Practice
« on: July 07, 2024, 10:49:38 pm »
A new Private Parking Code of Practice has been published - it is a joint venture bewteen the British Parking Association (BPA) and the International Parking Community (IPC). There is a transition period and phased launch to allow for updating of signage as necessary, but in general, all approved operators, regardless of which association they are members of, should be following this new code on 1st October 2024.

The two associations are remaining separate entities, and will retain their respective appeals services (POPLA for BPA members and the IAS for IPC members).

The Code of Practice is available to view here: Private Parking Sector Single Code of Practice

It should be noted that whilst ATA members will be bound by this new code, private parking remains a largely unregulated industry, and this Code of Practice does not trump legislation.
