Overstay at B&M car park
« on: »
Hello. I received my first private car parking ticket. Overstayed by 18 mins. Only thing I can say is I had to wait around 20-25 mins in the queue at check out. Is there any way of contesting this? Thanks in advance

First point of call is B&M to cancel explain as you have outlined the delay.

You have 10 minutes grace period and this 8 minutes over this, you can appeal on the delay as there is no actual period of parking. The private parking company will no doubt reject your appeal. Never disclose the driver details.

The notice mentions the words 29 days however the Act states 28days

You're going to need to be pretty convincing to justify that length of time in a B & M. Did you spend a lot, have you still got the receipt? B & M is your best bet to get it cancelled, provided you really didn't spend that length of time in store.

Not sure what the 29 days comment refers to above as I think that is correct. The act allows the PPC to transfer liability to the keeper after 28 days, I.e. 29 days.
