Author Topic: Notice of Debt Recovery from DCBL/Euro Car Parks but no previous notice of PCN  (Read 41 times)

I have received a letter today from Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd (DCBL) as a “Notice of Debt Recovery” for £170 unpaid parking charge from Euro Car Parks. The letter is dated 01/05/26 and states I have 14 days from this day, which is in 2/3 days, to either pay the outstanding amount or call to discuss repayment. It states that I am no longer able to appeal the parking charge. It also states that this case is not subject to high court or bailiff action.

The date of the PCN is dated October 2023 and I have not received any notification or letter regarding a PCN. At the time there were 3 drivers insured on the vehicle and seeing as the date of PCN was nearly 3 years ago I would not be able to clarify the driver at the time.

Any help of the next steps I should be taking would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

DCBL are powerless debt collectors, who use the “B” in their name to frighten people.

Since you don’t have any background, you should send a Subject Access Request to Euro Car Parks to obtain everything they have, including the original PCN.

Was the car’s V5C correct at the time?

In due course, if you ignore DCBL, you will get a Letter of Claim from DCB Legal to which you need to reply, followed by a county court claim. DCB Legal usually discontinues defended claims before having to pay the court fee. Search this forum to see many examples. But first you need to work on formulating a defence.

Read https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/ if you haven’t already done so. Post the PCN as advised when you can.
