Is Peterborough your local county court?

A lot of cases are being automatically transferred to St Helens for telephone hearings, which is not good for these cases. It may be that they are now getting overwhelmed with these cases and they are transferring them back to the defendants local courts, as they should have been in the first place.

Or, it could be because the sum claimed is more significant than a few hundred £, it requires a hearing in person and will be longer than standard.

You will receive a directions order from Peterborough County Court in due course.

I suggest you do not mislay ANY court documents as that is how people end up with default CCJs because of missed information. Are you sure that the missing letter was identical to this one?

Thank you for the reply. Yes it would be my local court and as mentioned this claim against me is for just under 3k, im pretty sure it was identical as when I received it I though, why have I been sent this again.

It is most likely around the house somewhere so ill have a look tonight as I would not have thrown it away.

I fell like this would most likely be a hearing in person, if so would I be required to speak?

You may be asked to speak. Don't worry about it though. It is not the Old Bailey. Have a look at his short video which explains what is likely to happen on the day:

Let us know when you receive the order with the date for the hearing and any other requirements.

Normally, DCB Legal will discontinue if the claim isn't struck out, however, because I tis a much larger sum than normal, they may try to press on all the way to a hearing. You will have a deadline by which you will have to submit your witness statement to support your defence.

Do not prepare your WS before receiving and reviewing a copy of the claimants WS bundle.
