Today I received a mediation invitation letter from the court. I would be grateful if you could advise me on how to prepare for the session and what I should consider offering in my case.

You offer £0 to settle, you do not discuss your defence and that will be that. It’s a box-ticking exercise for the courts, in the past it was optional but now they make it mandatory.
