I have just found the password (it's on the Claim Form - N1SDT, bottom right box that says Important Note) and managed to get the claim up on MCOL

According to this screenshot here I have gone over the 1st June deadline for the acknowledgment of service (its showing 5th June). Im not sure how that's happened as I sent it off on 28th May and i'm sure it was next day delivery?

Does this change anything that I send in my defence or should I simply submit my defence and hope for the best now?

Yes, the password was in the clear in your post above.
If your AoS shows up, it’s unlikely to be a problem. The courts apply some tolerance on deadlines for defendants in person. Just submit your defence online today.

One last question, MCOL says do you wish to make a counterclaim, apparently there's a fee associated with that of £35 and if i do wish to do so i need to specify the sum and the reason.

That's not what I want to do right? For me, I just want to respond to the claim made against me with the letter we drafted earlier and that's it right?

Do not counterclaim.
If you do, it prevents the claimant from discontinuing.

Hi,

So I submitted my defence on 15/06/2026 as per your guys advice, i've logged into MCOL and it doesn't look like there's any changes there. However, DCBLegal are trying to call me to "resolve" the issue apparently (I just got an automated call from them telling me to hold the line).

Should I speak to them on the phone and see what they have to say? I'm assuming they will try to bribe me into paying a reduced rate etc

Do not call DCB Legal. There is nothing to your advantage in doing so, unless you are going to agree to pay them some money. Further, all correspondence should be in writing so that you have a record of it.

This behaviour is normally a precursor to them discontinuing. Hold tight.
