Bollard badly positioned.
« on: »
Hi, so I parked in a an official parking bay. Paid parking. When I opened the door, it hit a bollard which dented my car. There is no reason for this bollard to be where it is. Is it worth raising a complaint and claiming damages? It's a tiny dent but I think the bollard is completely missing positioned. Pics attached.

No.
I am not qualified to give legal advice in the UK. While I will do my best to help you, you should not rely on my advice as if it was given by a lawyer qualified in the UK.

No claim off someone else whatsoever, the fact you failed to look out the car window to check for obstructions (such as a passing pedestrian) is only down to you.

Ok can someone enlighten me on the reason of a bollard in such a position next to the parking bay. It's the only one on the street like this and I have never seen one so close to a bay before.

Looks like a public road so ask the local council why it is there. But even if for no reason at all it still won't make them liable for opening your car door into it.
