Private parking tickets / Re: PCN EV Charging McDonald’s Fine

The above image is from the charging app I use.

Irrespective of other restrictions posted a reasonable person might conclude that the conditions on the sign next to the charger might be the relevant ones.

They are only 60kw, over an hour must be fairly common. Fairly trappy arrangement.

Btw Tesla Superchargers are often open to non Tesla EV. Download the app from the charging tab on Tesla website, also gives a write up.

Generally way cheaper, even more so off peak.

On the possibly misguided assumption that the apparent offer has been made in good faith it can be sensible to go through the motions of payment. Some say not found, some zero due. Some unchanged.

At least that enables verification of whether it has been cancelled sooner.

Is there anything I can do against this??

If you believe you haven't committed an offence go to court and plead not guilty.

As far as I could tell you said "looked at my phone". You haven't indicated how you did that. Though if you picked it up you don't seem to have a defence.

The Flame Pit / Re: towing a car

Why is it being towed and to where ?

If that would be covered by the no MOT exemption then surely it can still be towed.

Speeding and other criminal offences / Re: Close Pass

If your wife was driving it has nothing to do with you.

I presume you have named her as driver in accordance with the instructions on the notice and she has received her own (or she received it in her own name). She would then indicate her intent to plead not guilty.

It might be useful for you to clarify what has been done otherwise a larger problem will exist.

Putting the photo on an image hosting site and the address for a Google maps link would enable a much better judgement of the distance.

The pollution numbers will be on the CoC and may be on the V5c. Nox is what matters, though pmi might also be relevant.

The process has been laid out. It has strict time limits, you failed to meet them. This is the consequence.

Yes, bailiffs are what happens, at various escalating costs, again the additions are laid out.

Eventually they remove your possessions.

The signs were plain and unobscured. Either you failed to see them for some reason or you didn't understand their meaning and chose to proceed regardless.

The timetable to follow should be on the documents from the council.

I am actually heading towards the car park. I was driving to the pickup area.

My mistake, it was hard to tell from the dark photos.

24
There are actually 2 crossings, and I have just seen the notice (it failed for some reason the first time).

Both have signage on the railings saying no loading amongst other things.

You are at the second one it seems, but going out of the airport. In order to get there you would have gone past the short stay/arrivals car park turning (which you would have done of course since it's closed), gone to the next small roundabout, ignored/missed the left turn for the arrivals/pickup and gone fully round it to get back to that crossing.

Meanwhile your passenger would have missed the signage to the pick up pointing them left from the terminal. Missed the signage and visible buses to the right and instead headed over the road towards the terminal long term, hotels and coach station.

So you both got a bit lost at exactly the same time and your passenger fortuitously jumped in.

Your burden in court is proving that is how events unfolded on the balance of probability.

The other avenues might be better.

25
A difficulty might possibly be "she just got in" and any defence might need to rest on other points.

Your only real option is to wait for a court claim and defend that. Cost of loss would be about £220. You don't get a ccj provided an adverse judgement is paid in time.

The contract is not to stop. However after that point there is a roundabout, a number of currently closed turning to the right for various non functional parking (including the short stay arrivals)
and a pedestrian crossing below the terminal, a left turn into the drop off and the variable location of the constantly moving temporary lights.

Stopping under those circumstances - the normal course of traffic - cannot reasonably be a contravention.

A passenger jumping in coincidentally doesn't change the reason for the stop.

There is also a slim chance it occurred on a part of the roadway not under vcs control.

There is however a credibility issue. There is little reason that would put a potential passenger and the vehicle collecting them  coincidentally at the same place.

Where, exactly, were the temporary lights.

The Flame Pit / Re: Compliant Courtesy Car Form

A problem may be whether TFL accept you are a vehicle hire firm and whether that is a hire agreement under the relevant regulations.

Lending somebody a non compliant car as a courtesy doesn't sound much like a hire firms activities.

Also ensure he reads and complies with the instructions about submitting the driving licence details.

He may think "but I've sent them already" which is true, but doesn't satisfy what is being asked of him.

Waze always gives you an alert when approaching a speed camera

No. It gives you an alert when its idea of where a speed camera is coincides with its idea of where your vehicle location is. The latter it is quite good at, the former not so much. New cameras occur regularly and it's obviously clueless as to the location of non fixed camera until somebody has reported its location.

Typically it will have happened. Unless a set of final accounts have been passed to HMRC and any liabilities to them settled HMRC will object (I imagine they sometimes miss one).

I would imagine the value of the assets will be repaid to the shareholders as a distribution (which should be in the final accounts). It could be paid as a capital distribution by concession and with HMRC clearance.

An informal liquidation through strike off is not unusual and cheaper than formal MVL.

Private parking tickets / Re: Bristol Airport IAS Case - VCS
« on: August 17, 2024, 01:04:36 pm »
Were you parked beyond the area VCS have potential rights on. Your pin is beyond the roundabout where their contract stops.

It is possible of course it is included in the replacement contract.
