Absolutely not. Maybe it's an April Fool? WD40 is one of those substances that seems to have attracted lore to itself. The original is a protective film that is dissolved in light oil. When the oil evaporates, a rust inhibiting layer is left. However, people advocate it for all sorts of things for which it is not suitable. All sorts of nonsense is offered by idiots on youtube and tiktok.

Oxidised paint is damaged paint. You can cut it away to an extent with cutting compound - you may have heard of T-cut which is a consumer grade cutting compound but there are more sophisticated versions out there. However, if this is a classic car of some sort and the paint may be cellulose or something that is not going to take kindly to this. If the car is valuable, get a paintshop to look at it, ideally one with expertise in classic cars. If it isn't and you just want it to look better, get some cutting compound and cloths and do it yourself.

A competent technician can easily remap an ECU back to default; the ECU can be reset with the software you plug in. The software can also inspect the ECU contents to see what is wrong or has been changed. I'd suggest you find a Yamaha dealer who knows what they are doing.

I think, mome rath, you have everything back to front. Add the costs associated with the CH1 including getting your own review to the principal, the amount you are charging your friend. That way you get protected and the deal goes through. They get to pay a bit more each month.

If they can't afford that I think mome rath probably needs to take a long hard look at whether they should get involved at all.

Some (unscrupulous) foreign car hire companies won't hire you the car unless you take THEIR expensive insurance. We had this in Sicily. I refused the (prebooked) car and went to the one next door who was quite happy. Before I left the airport I rang Easyjet who the original hire was booked through and my money was refunded within minutes. The car was returned undamaged (amazingly considering how everyone drives in Sicily) and everyone was happy. Except the scammers, who hopefully lost the EJ contract.

I won against Brighton council for travelling in a bus lane because I had accessed it by coming the other way down the same road and going right round the roundabout to return up the road which it turned out was entirely a bus lane. Unfortunately, they hadn't realised that anyone could or would do that and there was no signage that it was a bus lane until I was in it, when it said bus lane on the road. They didn't even bother to turn up.

I think it may help maks if they stopped expecting someone to walk up, smite the claimants down and leave maks untouched without maks engaging with the process. The people here are brilliant, some of the best in the business, and they are helping people for free. But it's help based on being given all the information available, not bits and pieces. The alternative is a bill over £1,000 which will happen if maks lets it.

I presumed that as he was in roadworks with a 50mph limit the normal motorway regulations were suspended. It makes no difference - he still wouldn't have been offered a course.

SP30 is the code for exceeding the statutory speed on the public road. It is not related to the speed you were or should have been travelling at or what road it was. Here are all the codes:

You won't be offered another course for three years after the date of the offence for which it was offered, so any speeding infringements until that runs out will attract points and a fine.
