I was caught speeding by a camera in West Yorkshire (41mph in a 30 zone at 06:35 in the morning) and accepted the points and paid the fine online last April'24.. the retaining house was not offered as ineligible.
I thought this was the end of it and forgotten about it until last week when I received a Single Justice Procedure notice stating that I had responded to a request under Section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and admitted I was the driver at time of offence and had paid the conditional offer, however, my licence details were not received by HMCTS.
- I just checked and I've received no other communication in the time between paying the fine and there was no data input boxes or areas or online form to do so when paying and accepting to put the licence information in to... if there was I would have done so!
Since getting this SJP last week the fine money I paid last April has now been returned to my bank.
The SJP asks for a plea of Guilty or Not Guilty - however, I've already accepted and paid a fine last April so they know I'm guilty!
I've no idea what's going on as it all seems totally illogical, is anybody able to help please?
