Does this mean that this is then challengable?

From what you quoted from the TSM, my understanding is that because the upright sign was present but turned away from the carriageway, it means the authority did choose to rely on signage but it was presented incorrectly by being turned around and not visible from the road.

Ill be interested to see and may take a trip to have a look, since this PCN was issued nearly a week ago if the sign is still turned around.

Hi all,

Back with another one. Need assistance on a no loading zone.

The driver parked in the borough of Redbridge using a blue badge on double yellows. However it turned out to be a no loading zone but the driver was unaware as the no loading sign was turned around and not visible from the road.

Checking the PCN pictures, there were double blips on the kerb, but that was missed by the driver otherwise they would have parked elsewhere.

Is the sign being turned around enough to challenge the pcn? Looking for confirmation on the best angle for representations and whether Redbridge normally contests these when signage visibility is the issue.

Update

They have cancelled the ticket! I think the fact that I took pictures of the blue badge the right side up next to the pcn untouched helped my case.

Also this car park is a weird one. I agree that online it states that bb holders can only park in designated bays, but a lot of people park here in normal bays with a bb without consequence. I have seen the parking wardens just check the time is valid and move on.

It was not. The designated bays were all taken so parked in a normal bay. The driver has done this before without problem.

Hi All,

Hoping for some advice, the driver parked in a car park, but put the blue badge faced down. They rightly got a ticket, but was wondering if there are any chance of appealing on maybe compassionate grounds?

The Blue badge book is the badge and clock, but as it happens this morning before parking, the driver managed to accidently split the 2. As a result, the clock was facing correct, but the badge itself was face down. They were parked in a normal bay with the badge (incorrectly) displayed as they normally do.

The driver upon returning to the vehicle, realised their mistake, and took pictures with the badge corrected (in the hopes to show that the badge was valid and it was a silly mistake).

That's fair enough, thanks for looking. Is there a way however to reduce the charge to the original amount on the basis that this is the first letter they have received regarding it? The £145 charge is written as escalated.

They said that they visited the car park and overstayed by an hour without realising. They did not receive the earlier letters - this is the first they received.

If they have more information and a defence then they will get assistance here.

However,if so, they should post directly rather than use you as an intermediary.

They are not very technology friendly so they asked me for help. What information do you require? What are their next steps?

Hi all. I have been approached by a friend as they received a ticket in the post from Smart parking (attached). From what I gather, they have not contacted them at all. They are unsure if this is the first time they are receiving this or if they have received these before (its a busy house and they are rarely home). It is my understanding that as long as they don't identify the driver, they are ok? Do they even need to reply?
