I had a similar situation with home/buildings insurance about 20 years ago.  I made a claim for a new garage door after a break-in.  Subsequently, I changed insurers and the new insurer did not ask me if I had made any claims.  A couple of years later had to make a claim with the new insurer for replacing a sewer pipe because of tree-root damage.  I remember receiving a phone call one morning from the insurer telling me that I had failed to declare the claim from a couple of years earlier and that they could not settle the new claim until my premium was adjusted.  If I recall correctly, the additional premium was about £30-40 so I just paid it.

Looking back, I am fairly certain that the insurer was on shaky ground.  Why else would they offer simply to accept a payment that reflected the difference in historical premium?  I could have argued it, but it wasn't worth the time and energy.

I have seen similar scenarios at various country fairs and the like with vendors relying on (a non-existent) cellular service.  This is why some of the organisers of these events offer a wifi service at £!!!!

As an example "The Game Fair" at Ragley Hall this year was a 3-day event and the wi-fi cost £124 for the event.  You would have to sell a fair few ice-creams to cover that cost, but I expect that it pales into insignificance compared to the cost of the pitch itself

Changing the CSS for the span.botslice class to

background: #aaa;
padding: 2px
height: 2px

Gave a pleasing effect to my eyes

Here's my 0.02p

Tikli's suggestion seems a bit extreme, but it does illustrate the point
Sparx's idea of a slightly more pronounced separator is a little too subtle

Maybe something in between?

I don't think you're being picky, the one on the right looks better.  But if its going to be a pain to change things, then I would not bother - for my money, it's a low-priority, nice to have

If you are to have any chance of getting  one of these dropped then I would suggest when you reply to the S172 requests, you send them together in a single envelope with a brief accompanying "Begging letter" requesting that one of them is cancelled.  I have heard tale of this approach working, but I would not bet the farm on it and if this approach is unsuccessful, you will just have to take it on the chin
